*Grade Eligibility Exceptions: A player who is in the 4th grade and who was born on or after September 1, 1998 can participate in the 10 & under division; a player who is in the 6th grade and who was born on or after January 1, 1996 can participate in the 12 & under division; a player who is in the 8th grade and was born on or after September 1, 1994 can participate in the 14 & under division; a player who is in the who is in the 10th grade and who was born on or after September 1, 1992 can participate in the 16 & under division; a player who is in the 12th grade and who was born on or after September 1, 1990 can participate in the 18 & under division. Players participating under the grade eligibility exception must present proof of grade level on school letterhead from a school administrator (letter from Principal's office indicating current grade). Home schooled participants must present documentation signed by the appropriate administrator overseeing the homeschool experience, proving their current grade status. Grade level is determined by the player's grade on March 1, 2010.

Coaches should use the Youth Basketball team reservation form in the PDF above.
After completing the information on the bottom half of the page, check the appropriate age division for youth boys or youth girls basketball.
Send the team reservation form and entry fee to the Powerade State Games office. Make check payable to State Games.
After your team reservation form and entry fee are received by Powerade State Games office, you will receive a confirmation of your entry.
Rosters and a copy of each players birth certificate (and grade confirmation for exceptions) must be turned in at a time designated by competition manager.
IMPORTANT NOTES: This tournament is for teams of all skill levels. The roster may not exceed 20 players and 3 coaches. Only those individuals listed on the roster may sit on the team bench. Only those individuals listed on the roster will receive medals. This tournament has a three game guarantee.
RULES: 2009-2010 National High School Federation Rules as used by the N.C. High School Athletic Association with the following exception/additions:
A regulation clock will be used. The 18 & under, 16 & under, and 14 & under divisions will play 8-minute quarters. The 12 & under and 10 & under divisions will play 7-minute quarters.
Halftime will be no longer than 5 minutes. Each overtime period will be 3 minutes.
Each team has a total of 3 full time outs and 2 thirty-second time outs per game. One additional time out per team will be awarded for each overtime period. There will be no carry over of timeouts to the overtime periods.
The clock will be stopped for all whistle stoppages.
Teams must provide an experienced scorer for all games. If no neutral scorekeeper is provided, the home team will keep the official score.
Please bring reversible jerseys or two differently colored jerseys.
All team members, including coaches, ball boys, scorekeepers, etc. must sign the Agreement to Participate (or have a parent/legal guardian sign if under 18) before they will be allowed to participate.
Any player ejected from a game for disciplinary reasons must sit out the next game.
Each team must supply its own practice balls. Game balls will be supplied or may be any ball agreed upon by all parties.
Boys 18 & under, 16 & under and 14 & under divisions will use a regulation size ball. Boys 12 & under and 10 & under divisions and all girls divisions will use an intermediate size ball.
All boys and girls divisions will use the regulation foul line.
Players cannot play for more than one team in the same age division.
If a team forfeits two or more pool games, the team will be disqualified from the event and cannot participate in the tournament round of play.
AWARDS: Awards will only be given to those listed on the official roster. Gold, silver and bronze Olympic-style medals will be awarded.
