 2009 Track & Field Results

The 2009 Track and Field Competition results are posted in PDF format at the top of this page.

 

COMPETITION SITE:  Johnson C. Smith University (Charlotte, NC)

 

COMPETITION DATES:  Saturday, June 12 (youth) and Sunday, June 13 (masters)

 

ENTRY FEES:      Youth - $5 per event

                                (4 events Max; Bantams and Midgets are limited to 3 events.)

                                Masters - $30 for one event plus $5 for each additional event

             

 

ENTRY DEADLINE: TBA

 

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Coach O Registration System will be used for this event.  Online registration will open on Sunday, February 14 (Valentine’s Day).

 

Youth:

There will NOT be onsite registration available the day of the event for the youth divisions!! 

 

Masters:

Onsite registration will be available from 8:00-9:30 a.m. Sunday for Masters Divisions only. On-site registration for the Master's divisions will be closed at the start of the meet. No registrations will be accepted after registration has closed.

 

COMPETITION FORMAT:

·         This meet will be sanctioned by USA Track & Field, but USAT&F, AAU or track club membership is not required to participate.

·         This meet will follow a rolling start schedule for all events.

·         All participants are responsible for being present for their events.

·         Youth track and field events listed below will be held on Saturday.

·         Masters track and field events will be held on Sunday.

·         Masters events are offered in 5 year increments and not 10 year increments as in past years.

 


SCHEDULE OF YOUTH EVENTS

Track Events – Saturday, June 12

9:00 a.m.         Race Walks

                        3,000 Meter Run                                                        

                        80/100/110 Hurdles

                        100 Meter Dash (Prelims)

                        800 Meter Run

                        100 Meter Dash (Finals)

                        400 Meter Dash

                        4 X 100 Meter Relay

                        1500 Meter Run

                        200 meter Hurdles

                        200 Meter Dash

                        4 X 400 Meter Relay

 

Field Events – Saturday, June 12

9:00 a.m.         Long Jump

                        High Jump (9-10 Up) 

                        Triple Jump - Follows Long Jump

                        Shot put (9-10 Up)

                        Discus

                        Pole Vault

 

  The meet will start at 9:00 a.m. and will run with a rolling start for all events.

  All events will be run as times finals except 100 meters. If 8 or less competitors report for the 100m, it will be run as a final during the time of the Semis.

In most cases, Male athletes will follow Female. Exceptions will be made in the hurdles and field events.

Bantams and Midgets are limited to three events. All other divisions are limited to    four events.

  You must report to the clerk at “First Call” for your event.

Some races may be combined with approval of Meet Director.

All events will be run as a timed final, except for the 100m Dash.

  Only athletes performing in an event and meet officials are allowed on the track and infield during the competition.

Participants in field events must be prepared to provide their own implements.

All participants must be able to provide proof of age upon request at all times during the event.

Order of Events: Oldest to youngest, women followed by men.  Exceptions will be made in the hurdles and field events. Note: 4x400 relay events will be added for the Masters if there are enough entries. All relays must be declared by noon. Relays will be held after the 200 meter. All events will be run as timed finals. Masters meet will start at 10 a.m.  Masters events for 2010 are being offered in 5 year increments.

AWARDS: The top three finishers in each event will receive gold, silver and bronze medals.
