On-Site/Pre-Registration/Check-In

On-Site Registration will take place on Saturday morning (June 19th) please see the schedule below. Please use the Taekwondo specific form for on-site registration.

 

Entry Fees
$55 per person for Poomsae, Kyorugi or both.

An additional $15 fee is required for entry into Creative Poomsae, Creative Kyukpa, Creative Weapons and Demonstration Team. Demonstration Teams have the option of paying an $80 team fee for 2 to 7 members. An additional $15.00 is required for additional team members.

 

A $10 late fee will be charged for all on-site entries and entries accepted after the deadline.

 

Coaching Credentials

NEW for 2010! A $10.00 entry fee is required for all Coaches to have access to the competition floor and to coach from the chair. All Coaches must exit the competition floor immediately after your competitor’s match is over. No Coaching is allowed for Poomsae Competition. All Schools will receive one (1) free Coaching Credential for proof of USAT certified Coaching Certificate.

 

World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) Masters Credentials All World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) Kukkiwon certified Master Instructors will receive a free spectator entry pass into the event. Masters credentials do not have access to the competition floor. All Masters must provide proof of Kukkiwon 4th Dan or higher certificate to receive credentials.  All Masters will be recognized during Opening Ceremonies.

 

 

Entry Deadline

June 4th, 2010 – All entries must be received by 5:30pm to avoid a late fee.

Age and Rank Divisions Poomsae ages: 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15-16-17, Adults – 18-32, 33-40, 41-50, 51 & over Belt Colors – white – yellow – green – blue – red - black belt Poom or Dan – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Sparring ages: 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, Adults – 18-32, 33-40, 41-50, 51 & over, Black Belts ages 14-17, divided by weight Adults ages 18 & over, divided by weight and age categories The Tournament Committee reserves the right to modify age and weight divisions to create a safe, fair and a positive competitive experience.

 

Age determination date is December 31, 2010 (i.e. competitor is not eligible to compete in the 12-13 year old division if they turn 14 anytime in 2010). Proof of age is required. Birth certificate, Military I.D. and/or driver’s license are acceptable proof-of-age documents. Do not mail or hand-deliver any proof –of- age documents to State Games of North Carolina.

The Competitors, Coaches and Referees should have proof-of-age and Credential documents on hand at the event site. In case of eligibility dispute, lack of proper documentation will result in disqualification of the individual participant.

Event Rules and Format

USA Taekwondo (USAT) and State Games of North Carolina Taekwondo modified competition rules apply. All safety equipment is mandatory. Competitors are required to wear headgear (blue, red or white), mouth guard, chest protector, (blue or red), forearm guards, shin guard, instep guards, and all males are required to wear groin guard inside pants during sparring competition. The newly approved WTF Taekwondo Gloves are optional and must correspond with the matching chest protector color (red or blue) or white. Competitors must bring their own protective gear.

Competitors must wear a clean white uniform. Black collar Doboks

(uniforms) are allowed for Black Belts only. Special Costumes are allowed for Creative Poomsae, Creative Kyukpa, Creative Weapons and Demonstration Team competition.

 

All competitors are subject to inspection prior to being allowed on the competition floor. School logos and patches are allowed on the Dobok. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to disallow any uniform or equipment if it is offensive or degrading.

 

Only World Taekwondo Federation, (WTF/USAT) official belt colors are allowed. (White, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red or Black), stripes are allowed, i.e. white/yellow stripe, yellow/green stripe, green/blue stripe, blue/red stripe, red/black stripe, and black belt poom/dan bars.

 

Events offered include Olympic Kyorugi (sparring), Open Traditional Poomsae (Forms) in accordance with an approved National or International Governing Body, WTF/USAT Black Belt Forms, Palgwe or Taegeuk Forms, Creative Poomsae (Forms), Creative Kyukpa (Breaking), (wood only, no bricks), Creative Weapons and Demonstration Team competition.

 

Electronic scoring will be used for all sparring divisions.

 

Awards:

Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the top 3 winners in Poomsae competition. Gold, Silver and two Bronze medals will be awarded to the top 4 winners in Kyorugi Competition.

 

Top School Support Award: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place awards will be awarded to the top 3 Taekwondo schools who pre-register the most competitors by the early entry deadline.

 

Sportsmanship Award:  Sportsmanship Awards will be presented to the competitors who exemplify a positive competitive attitude and the State Games Code of Conduct.

 

Athlete of The Year Award: One male and one female competitor will be selected as the overall Taekwondo Athlete of The Year.

Selectees will compete against all State Games sports winners for the overall State Games Athlete of The Year Awards.
