 2009 SWIMMING RESULTS

COMPETITION SITE: Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center

 

COMPETITION DATES: June 26 & 27

 

SCHEDULE: Competition begins at 8:00 a.m. each day for morning sessions.  The pool will open for warm-ups at 6:45 a.m. Competition begins no earlier than 1:00 p.m. for afternoon sessions.  Warm-ups will start no earlier than 12:00 p.m.

 

ENTRY FEE (online and mail in): $25/swimmer - Regardless of the number of events entered (8 events max, but no more than 4 events per day) 

   

Online registration will be available on February 14 (Valentines Day) 

Visa and MasterCard accepted                    

 

ENTRY DEADLINE: Wednesday, June 16 – If late entries are accepted, they may be seeded in the first heat.

CLASSIFICATION AND SANCTION: Long Course Meters/USS and USMS Approved

 

ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLUBS AND TEAMS:

·         The 2010 team entry packet will be available for downloaded soon.  Keep checking back for posting.

·         All teams must submit their HyTek entries and entry summary sheet to the Meet Director, Rodney Sellars.

·         Teams may pay their registration fees using the State Games online registration system. 

See the registration instructions below for Teams/Clubs:

·         Click on the Team Registration link to begin your registration (available Feb. 14).

·         The contact information page is assuming you are the Coach or the Credit Card holder.  This information is required to get to the next page.

·         This part is easy. You will be asked to enter the gender code and the division. These drop-down boxes only have one choice so just click and move on.

·         Next you will enter the total number of swimmers that you will be entering into the State Games Swim Meet.

·         Enter your Swim Team/Club Name.

·         The Registration system will now calculate the total amount you owe.

·         Making sure that all the information entered is correct, click continue to move on to the Credit Card page.  Remember, Visa and MasterCard only!

·         Follow the step by step instructions and you are done!  You should receive an email confirmation within 24hours.

·         Now that you have successfully registered, you will need to provide the State Games Office with your swimmers contact information (name, address, city, state, zip code, and email). This can be done by email in excel format.

  

   OR

           

·         You can login back into your team registration (available Feb. 14) using your email address and your ID number (provided in your confirmation email) and enter your roster manually. This database allows you to login at anytime to enter your swimmers.

ENTRY INSTURCTIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS:

  If you do not swim with a club, you may enter the State Games by completing the Individual entry form as detailed below. 

  Use the individual entry form.

  After completing the participant information and emergency contact information, check Swimming in the “Sport Entered” section of the individual entry form.

  Enter the event code and division in Part 1 of the individual entry form.

  Enter your time on the first line of Part 2.

  Enter the enclosed fee, including any late fees, in Part 3.

  An appropriate signature must be included on the Agreement to Participate

ELIGIBILITY: All amateur swimmers under the age of 19 are eligible to swim in the age group events.  Swimmers may be registered members of North Carolina Swimming (NCS), but registration is not required.  Swimmers must compete in the age group corresponding to their age as of the first day of the meet (June 26, 2010).  Swimmers born on June 26th must swim at their new age.  No swimmer will be permitted to swim in an older age group.  EXCEPTION: 8 & under swimmers may compete in 10 & under events to the extent that they do not compete in the same 8 & under event and they do not exceed the maximum number of events.  All masters swimmers age 19 and older are eligible to swim in the masters events and may be registered with USMS for 2010, but registration is not required.

 

FORMAT: All events are Long Course Meters.  Events 200 meters and shorter will be pre-seeded and swum as timed finals in the order specified in the attached Order of Events.  Meet management reserves the right to combine heats on deck if scratches allow.  The 400-meter freestyle events will be deck seeded with check-in with the Clerk of Course required prior to the beginning of the meet session for that event.  Each swimmer is responsible for reporting promptly to the Clerk of Course and/or the blocks.  Meet management reserves the right to combine the 15-18 and 19+ age groups within an event for the afternoon sessions if meet entries dictate.  Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each event for the following age groups – 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, etc.

 

ENTRY LIMIT: Swimmers are limited to four (4) events per day and eight (8) events for the meet. To control the size of the meet and avoid long sessions the meet management reserves the right to limit the number of entries.  If it becomes necessary to return entries that may have been received prior to or on the entry deadline, entries will be accepted as deemed proper by the meet management.

 

VOLUNTEERS: ALL TEAMS are asked to provide a minimum of three (3) volunteers who are willing and able to assist with conducting the meet and other jobs.  Please list names of all volunteers on the attached form and indicate those that are NCS certified officials.  Volunteers who work a minimum of four (4) hours will receive a free State Games Volunteer T-shirt.

 

SPECTATORS: No spectator admission will be charged.  Heat sheets will be available for $7 at the meet.
