v The Edenton Welcome Tent, provided by the Edenton-Chowan Chamber, will be onsite at Colonial Park (waterfront campsite) beginning Thursday evening to answer questions you may have and to provide plenty of information you can take with you.
v The Barker House on the waterfront, home of the famed organizer of the Edenton Tea Party, Penelope Barker, will be open daily and you are invited to tour, shop and experience life as only Penelope could. The front lawn will be the site for entertainment and Cycle NC social gatherings for all to enjoy.
v Edenton Bay Trading Company Patio offers Purveyors of Great Taste domestic and imported beer and wine selections along with delicious home-made faire for those that may want to be a few steps away from the waterfront campsite. To get a glimpse www.meweb.net/EdentonBayTrading/ebthome.html
v Canoes, Kayaks and Pedal Boat Rentals will be available from the Town Dock Master at Colonial Park (Waterfront Campsite) every day so you can explore Edenton Bay. There is a limited supply, so first come first served.
v Wildlife Guide, Phil Patrick invites you to join him for guided paddles along Pembroke Creek on Friday and Saturday early evenings. A small number of kayaks and canoes will be available on a first come first serve basis. So if you really love exploring the waterways and have a kayak or canoe of your own, you may want to throw it on the top of your vehicle and sign up for what may be the adventure of your life. v Guided Walking and Trolley Tours are available daily from the Historic Edenton State Historic Site Visitor Center at 108 North Broad Street. These tours give an overview of Colonial America and its life and times in Edenton. The Visitor Center is open Mon – Sat 9 am – 5 pm and Sun 1 – 4 pm. Cycle Headquarters on Edenton Bay is also the site of the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse – learn first-hand about the restoration work that is being done along with the upcoming plans for the Lighthouse and Maritime History that plays an important role in Edenton’s Heritage. www.edenton.nchistoricsites.org
v The 1758 Cupola House, National Historic Landmark is considered the finest wooden example of the Jacobean Style of architecture in the south. You are invited to tour this historic treasure over the weekend and wander through their beautiful gardens. There will also be “Cycle-Friendly” items available for purchase at a minimal cost. www.cupolahouse.org
v Make Destination Downtown your shopping, dining, entertaining, relaxing venue throughout the weekend. Doors will be open to welcome and help you find exactly what you may need for that special someone or for yourself. v The Edenton National Fish Hatchery is part of the NC Birding and Charles Kuralt Trail. It is open daily and has a new aquarium and exhibit. This location is on Business 17 so just a short bike ride away from this year’s campsite. www.fws.gov/edenton
v The Shepard-Pruden Library has been newly renovated with state of the art computers in case you just have or want to keep in touch, resource materials, sitting areas with beautiful views inside and out and helpful people to assist with anything that you may need or want during your visit. www.pettigrewlibraries.org/chowan.asp
v The Edenton Historical Commission will be having a sidewalk sale in front of the Barker House all weekend. Special bricks will be sold with proceeds going to the Edenton Historical Commission. The Edenton Historical Commission would also like to invite all female participants to a tea in the parlor of the Barker House. The tea will be offered both Friday and Saturday from 2pm to 4pm.
Thursday, April 8th

Friday, April 9th
v Come visit the Chowan Arts Council, Friday, April 9, 2010, 5:30pm - 7:30pm for the Opening Reception of their exhibit, The Power of Three, which features the work of three of our popular artists: Nanette Albano, Betty "Haar" Salvo, and Robert Smithson. This exhibit encompasses works from acrylics to sculpture to pottery. It is a must see! The exhibit will be displayed from April 9 – May 10, so if you can't make the reception, please come by the gallery to see these artists’ great works. Gallery and gift shop hours are Mon - Sat, 10:00am - 5:00pm. v Stop by the CNC Cycle Zone from 4-6 pm and grab yourself a cup of Carolina Brewing Company seasonal brew. Rider’s will have a great time catching up on old friendships, recapping the days ride and enjoying some of the best beer in North Carolina. Carolina Brewing Company is located in Holly Springs, NC. Stop by and experience a taste of North Carolina.
v Edenton is beautiful by foot, bike and car but being able to see it from the water is exceptional. Personal boat rides provided by the Edenton-Chowan Chamber will be available from 3 – 7 pm. Sign up for the rides will be available at the Edenton Welcome Tent located next to the Cycle NC Registration Tent in Colonial Park on Edenton Bay. The launch site will be in the park next to the Edenton Hospitality Tent on the Barker House lawn.

Saturday, April 10th
v Rise and shine everyone! Breakfast is in the air! Get an early start and head over to the Barker House to grab some pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice all for just $6. All proceeds will benefit the local Boy Scout Troop. They’ll be firing up the grill to serve you bright and early beginning at 6:00 am. Come show your support and enjoy a fresh cooked breakfast.
v The Edenton Rotary Club will also be having their annual Pancake breakfast at the John A. Holmes High School cafeteria. For $6 you’ll get a hot, homemade breakfast. For anyone staying in the indoor camping facility or in RV’s/Campers or trailers, this is just a short walk to a quick and easy meal.

v The Edenton Kiwanis Club will be having their annual Fish Fry on April 10th at the Boy Scout Hut in front of John A. Holmes High School beginning at 11am and ending at 5:30pm. Their meal will consist of whiting (fish), slaw, potatoes and a little Debbie cookie/cake. If you’re hungry, stop by and grab a plate.

v CNC Spring Ride Celebration Evening Entertainment will be provided at the Barker House from 6pm to 9pm. Live music provided by The Phun Doctors will fill the evening with great music from artists such as Bob Seager, Billy Joel, the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones and much more.
